Our office provides customers who wish to open an overseas bank account with services such as passport authentication, signature authentication, address verification, etc. We provide Japanese translation services such as translating English applications into Japanese.

 

Administrative scriveners are stipulated that "the business is to prepare documents submitted to public offices and other documents related to rights, obligations, or proof of fact at the request of others."

 

Authentication of passports etc. corresponds to the documents related to "proof of fact", and can be created by an administrative scrivener.

What is passport authentication?

You may be required to authenticate your passport when opening an overseas bank account.

Although it is important to verify your identity when opening an account, the bank cannot verify your original passport when you apply by postal mail from Japan.

Therefore, you will need a copy of your passport certified by a qualified person.

Passport authentication means that a third party proves that "a copy of the passport is the same as the real thing" after verifying the identity of the passport owner

 ▶ First, be sure to confirm what “where” and “what” authentication is required.

 ▶ For photocopy of your passport, please make sure that you only need the photo page or all pages.

 

 

What is signature authentication?

Signature authentication is that a qualified person certifies that the signature attached to the documents such as the account opening application is "of course, the applicant himself/herself" and the documents are also signed and sealed. You may also be required to submit these documents.

 

 ▶ Depending on the submission destination, the style or format (standard text) may be fixed.  Please check with the recipient beforehand.

 

 ▶ If you need to verify the signature on the account opening application form, please bring it to our office without signing it in advance.

 

 

What is address verification?

Some banks may ask you to submit address verification documents.

Prepare a document certifying that the person is sure to live at the address stated in the application for opening an account.

We shall attach and certify an English translation of the documents that confirms the current address through utility bills and statements such as telephone, electricity, gas, and water.
